... some CRAZY person I know said I should "actually write in my livejournal". So, as out-there as this suggestion is, I will apaprently take it.

If you are reading this, I will assume that you would like to know what is going on in my life. Well, lately I have just been working everyday, 8-4 at a security job I got for a company called SSC (Security Solutions of Connecticut) contracted to a pharmaceutical company facility located in Coventry, RI. At first I didn't really like the job but I have since gotten used to it. Though, today I had to stay for a couple extra hours with a massive headache and feeling naseous. I don't know how I even made it home.

Unfortunately, I haven't done much else lately. I'd love to start working on costumes again but I don't have much money at the moment. I was supposed to get my first paycheck today and didn't get it. So it'll be another week of scraping by for me, apparently; another week of buying only minimal food, gas and a comic book or two to keep myself from going crazy. It sucks because I go through the work week thinking, you know, I'm gonna get paid. Apparently not. I won't find out what the problem is stil I go in on Sunday.

So, assuming I do eventually get paid, I have a few things planned. I have a Batman costume I need to finish. I wanna put the finishing touches on my Han Solo costume. I also wanna make a new 501st costume. I am deciding which to do first, an AT-AT driver or an Ep.2 Clone Pilot. I will do both eventually, but I'm not sure which to start with.

Anyway, I'm gonna go read some more comics cause that is pretty much all I have time for now. Thank God I have tomorrow and Saturday off.

They obviously want me to be broke, cause they just opened up shop.indianajones.com and I want EVERYTHING. Five pages of toys. FIVE PAGES! And that's not even all of them! I've wanted awesome Indy toys to exist ever since I was little. They're making figures of practically every character from all four movies, deluxe figure sets, two-packs, vehicles, etc. And I want them all! Indy on a horse, the German truck... all of it. Damn it. I'm gonna be poor forever.

Been forever since I've written in this!

What's going on? Well, went to Anime Boston last weekend, which sorta sucked, as most people know. But it was great making new friends and seeing old ones. It was nice to debut Brad too and get such a good response to it.  I like having an awesome, easy costume that doesn't require carrying all kinds of bags, guns and plastic.

As far as costuming goes, I'm slowly trying to finish several projects. I'm currently working on a few new RE costumes, including REmake/UC Richard Aiken and RE3/UC Carlos Olivera. I'm doing an Original Series Captain Kirk costume. For Star Wars, I'm continuing to work on ANH Luke (need a wig), Jodo Kast (ongoing project) and I wanna look into an AT-At driver. I'm also updating my Indy costume for NYCC and the movie premier. I want to get a new hat, whip, shirt and pants. I loooove my new jacket that I got from Bryan.s It's so much more accurate, weight and color-wise, than my old one (which I sold).

NYCC is soon! I can't wait. It was one of my favorite two cons last year, the first being Dragon*Con. I'll be bringing Indy, Jodo Kast, Luke, and idk what else yet. I'm staying with my best friend who moved to the city a few months ago, and I'm volunteering for the con so my membership is free woooooo.

I'm almost done with school FOR GOOD. Several more weeks and I iz a colludge grajooit. I wanna look for jobs/places to live in MA, CT and NY. Waltham and NYC are my top two choices at this point. I'm already signed up for the NYPD exam in June, so wish me luck!

Not much else is going on. School and costuming take up most of my time. If I stop either I just get bored and lonely, so I try to keep myself busy. Hopefully I'll update this before too much time goes by again.

You know what would be nice? To, like, go on a date on occasion, or to have some interest shown in me by a female. Is that ever gonna happen? It doesn't seem like it. I haven't been on a date in over a year and it's really depressing.

For my benefit (and possibly your interest), here's a list of things I am currently working on and future projects I'm planning:

Costumes

In Progress

Jodo Kast - Still needs a jetpack, the right gloves, and a blaster pistol. I also want to upgrade to aluminum knee and wrist darts, as well as an aluminum rangefinder stalk for the helmet.

Leon S. Kennedy - My oldest costume still in use. It's gone through many changes and still needs a few more things to be accurate. I need to get new elbow guards and fabricate a belt buckle and belt-clip flashlight.

Luke Skywalker - Even though I've only worn this once and don't know when/where I'd wear it again, I'd like to finish it. I need to get a wig, a droid caller, and weather the costume itself.

Brad Vickers - The costume itself is done but I'd like to get a vintage WWII helicopter pilot helmet to use as a prop.

In Planning

Cyclops - Some friends want me to do a Cyclops costume from X-Men for an upcoming con. I've had an X2 Cyclops visor for a while but never got a costume together. I figure I'll do some sort of semi-civilian version.

Doctor Octopus - This is a completely random and new idea. I want to do Ock's costume from Spider-Man 2. For the actual costume portion, I will need to find a trenchcoat and brown dress shoes. Then, I will need to construct the tentacles, their claws, and a harness to attach them to my body. I want to have this done for NYCC in April.

Ghostbuster - Not sure when this will be for. Four of my friends are gonna make electronic proton packs and traps, so I figured I'd get in on it since I've always wanted one. I know where to get all the soft parts too so this shouldn't be too difficult of a project.

Props

In Progress

Plaga Sample - The sample itself is about 95% done and looks great. I've compared it to the few videogame cutscene stills and it is almost dead-on. The only detail I am missing is several measurement/miniscus markings on the outside of the glass vial. I'm going to find some sort of aluminum tape to cut into small strips for this.

Plaga Sample Case - I found a small, metal, lockable attache case for the plaga sample to rest in. I need to line it with foam to protect the sample and limit it from moving around and breaking. I've also constructed some small detailed props to go along with the sample itself to add to the look of the case.

In Planning

T-Virus Sample - Not sure if I'll be buying or making this one yet. The construction seems challenging but doable. Gotta think about it some more.

G-Virus Sample - After seeing it in Umbrella Chronicles, I'd like to give this one a shot.

First Aid Spray - MAde one before but I'd like to make a better one with the label made on the computer and printed out.

Ammo Boxes - Various ammo boxes from RE2 and 4 for the handguns, TMP, and shotguns.

Ink Ribbon - I have a case that looks like one already so I think it'd be cool to make one, even though it's now obsolete in the RE games.

This is just a quick list. I'll add to it as a I think of more.

Some highlites of my experience are that I:

- Was killed by Boba Fett.
- Eaten by Jabba.
- Fed Boba to Jabba.
- Befriended by model Josie Lee.
- Made a lot of little kids happy.
- Met Jeremy Bulloch. He signed my helmet and wore it for the 501st pic!
- Had yet another incredible time with old and new friends.

I can't WAIT for the next event!

Tonight I finished my Olivera holsters. The real ones were $60 each and I couldn't justify spending that much money on them. So, instead, I bought two $8 right-handed airsoft gun holsters (I can't find any left-handed ones with a matching right-handed one) and modded the hell out of them. I reversed everything on one of them so it is now a left-handed holster, and I added leg straps, belt straps, and clips to them both. Check it out!

All that remains for this costume is to get the correct pants and a big-ass assault rifle. I know where to get them both, so, when I feel like spending the money, I'll have another costume done! :-D

Idk why but I am really excited about this new RE costume. I think part of it is because I haven't seen anyone do it yet. Another part of it is that it's looking pretty damn good so far. Finally, his character is so different than mine it seems like it's gonna be fun portraying him. The reason I made my Leon costume is cause I'm so damn much like him that it seemed only natural. While I'll always be like Leon, being the scaredy-cat helicopter pilot seems like it'll be a nice change. No guns or holsters to worry about (no girls either) and I actually live into the next two games! ::Runs away from Nemesis::

Movie marquee abbreviations are funny. (Why is the word abbreviation so long?) Just saw The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D, excuse me, REAL D, with Jeff and Angelo. It was a cool experience. Movie still makes me really sad though. I feel so bad for Jack but at least he finds happiness with someone at the end. ::sigh::

I'm almost done with Brad and Olivera! Everything for Brad is either in-hand or on its way and should be done in the next week or so. Still gotta get a huge-ass gun and holsters for Olivera. I'm excited to finally have new RE costumes other than Leon. I've been neglecting my mando, however. I need to update it some more with better parts so I can eventually convert it into either Jodo Kast or some version of Boba Fett. Thank God for costuming or I'd have way too much time to think about life.

The Last Worthless Evening
Don Henley

I know you broke up with him
And your heart's still on the shelf
It's been over two years for me
And I'm still not quite myself
You can't be with someone new
And you can't go back to him
You're beginning to realize
That it's sink or swim

I see you around sometimes
And my heart just melts
You're lookin' like if you had your wish
You'd be somewhere else
And it just breaks my heart
To see you here this way
Someday I'll get the nerve
To walk up to you and say

This is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend
Just gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend
'Cause I'll be there
When your broken heart is on the mend

Every night it's the same old crowd
In smokey rooms
You catch a faint glimpse of love sometimes
But it never blooms
I've been around this block a time or two
And I've made some big mistakes
But girl I promise you, I promise you

This is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend
Just gimme a chance
To show you how to love again
This is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend
'Cause it won't be long
'Till your little heart is on the mend

People inside their houses
With the shades pulled down

God knows, we could use some romance
In this sleepy bedroom town
I know you're still afraid to rush into anything
But there're just so many summers
And just so many springs

And this is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend, baby
Just gimme a chance, gimme a chance
To show you love again
This is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend 'cause it won't be long
'Til your little heart is on the mend

That you'll have to spend
Just gimme a chance to show you how
To love again
This is the last worthless evening
That you'll have to spend 'cause it won't be long
'Til your little heart is on the mend

"Cupid De Locke"
The Smashing Pumpkins

Cupid hath pulled back his sweetheart's bow
To cast divine arrows into her soul
To grab her attention swift and quick
Or morrow the marrow of her bones be thick
With turpentine kisses and mistaken blows

See the devil may do as the devil may care
He loves none sweeter as sweeter the dare
Her mouth the mischief he doth seek
Her heart the captive of which he speaks
So note all ye lovers in love with the sound
Your world be shattered with nary a note
Of one cupid's arrow under your coat

And in the land of star crossed lovers
And barren hearted wanderers
Forever lost in forsaken missives and satan's pull
We seek the unseekable and we speak the unspeakable
Our hopes dead gathering dust to dust
In faith, in compassion, and in love

I'm not every good at expressing myself when I'm upset, so I'm gonna do it through a series of quotes. Here goes...

On love...

"If I truly wanted someone bad enough wouldn't be a thing in the 'verse could stop me from going to her."
            - Malcolm Reynolds, Serenity

You alone can make my song take flight,
It's over now, the music of the night.
            - The Phantom of the Opera, "Beyond the Lake"

Mal: Inara, I ain't looking for anything from you. I'm just feeling kind of truthsome right now. Life is too damn short for ifs and maybes...
Inara: I learned something from Nandi. Not just from what happened, but from her. The family she made, the strength of her love for them. That's what kept them together. When you live with that kind of strength, you get tied to it, you can't break away. And you never want to. There's something that I...that I should have done a long while ago. And I'm sorry, for both of us, that it took me this long. I'm leaving.
            - Firefly, "Heart of Gold"

On life...

"Life is a pain, highness. Anyone who says differently is selling something."
            - The Man in Black, The Princess Bride

"It never goes smooth. How come it NEVER goes smooth?"
            - Malcolm Reynolds, Firefly

"Sometimes, to do what's right, we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most, even our dreams."
            - Peter Parker, Spider-Man 2

On myself...

Yet in his eyes, all the sadness of the world.
Those pleading eyes that both threaten and adore...
            - The Phantom of the Opera, "Why Have You Brought Us Here"

"In those years he learned much lore, hearing eagerly the histories of ancient days; and he became thoughtful, and sparing in speech. But in crafts of making he had less skill, for he was slow to learn his own strength, and often marred what he made with some sudden stroke. In other matters also it seemed that fortune was unfriendly to him, so that often what he designed went awry, and what he desired he did not gain; neither did he win friendship easily, for he was not merry, and laughed seldom, and a shadow lay on his youth."
            - "The Tale of Turin Turambar", The Silmarillion

Not good at telling people things as a rule, so make of this what you will.

Sooo I got my car back the other day. By "got back" I mean "I put it back together enough so I can drive it." Sadly, it's slightly less pretty than it was before I rear-ended that unsuspecting white car but it works and it doesn't look awful. It's good to have it back though. AND I finally got to put my Bee-Otch air freshener from Transformers in it. That pretty much makes everything all better.

I need to thank my friend Dan for getting me into yet ANOTHER sci-fi obsession. I am now in love with Star Trek and have watched all but two of the movies. I plan on getting the original series and The Next Generation on DVD and watching ALL OF THEM. I even bought a phaser gun tonight lol.

In other news, I am now going to Dragon Con! I'll be driving down to Georgia with two of my friends and staying over for several days. I plan on bringing my blue Boba Fett, Leon, and Wash from Firefly. It should be lots of fun, I'm really excited. I'm gonna meet the guy who does the voice of Master Shake!! My hero!!!

Anyway, I started on this new sleeping med and it is knocking me out as we spea... as I type. So, more later!

So, as insane as this sounds, I've decided that I'm gonna design and make a costume of Bumblebee from the original Transformers cartoon (when he was a VW Bug). Got a few ideas and some examples of other bots on cosplay.com. It's gonna be difficult but extremely fun, I think. Wish me luck!
